§1 What.

Buenas Tardes Lego is a musicvideo based on simulated rendered Legobricks and a song from WEEN.

PROJECT - tells you more about the 'making of'.

STORYBOARD - explains the plot of the video, shows screenshots and a storyboard with sound.

VIDEO - delivers the video in different formats.

DOWNLOAD - raw data 3d-models as well as all audio/video - formats

LINKS - lists links about WEEN, LEGO, and things of interest. Contains Additional information about from who I stole Ideas and whom I am grateful to.

§2 Why.
The whole project was inspired by a song named 'Buenas Tardes Amigo' by WEEN. It tells a thrilling story about a vendetta combined with an intense musical atmosphere, so i always wanted to visualize that. When i recently downloaded some Brickfilms - small stop-motion movies with Lego-built scenes and Lego-build Actors etc. - i found that this had to be the perfect way to make a 'Musicvideo' for the song. Unfortunately Legostuff is quite expensive especially when you need material to build a whole westerntown. So i decided to create Legobricks, Legofigures and all needed properties as 3d-models, set brick on brick, and build a Legoworld by myself. Kindof virtual-Lego then.

§3 How.
For creating the models I used Cinema4d, for the Textures Freehand10 and Photoshop7. The backgrounds are rendered by Bryce5.
First I created a single Legobrick in multiple variations, then i put brick on brick to build several buildings. The figures were the tricky part. They are constructed by simple optical comparison so I guess they wont fit the exact measures of the original Legofigures but who cares? Besides by creating own Legofigures it is possible to use facial expressions or clothing not provided by any original figure. Additional are my figures much more mobile then the original ones ;-)
The scene contains 5 complete buildings, up to 8 figures, 12 different lightsources and many different properties. Rendering a single picture takes about 4-6 minutes, the whole project will take an estimated rendertime of 875h hours (@25pics/s).

§4 Who.
The Buenas Tardes Lego Project was completely created by
me, d-lyx.
